At all ABA Nationals, Gold Cup qualifiers, State Championship qualifiers, State Championship finals and on Wednesday nights at River Valley, the races are ran using the ABA Transfer System. The ABA Transfer System differs significantly from the Total Points scoring system.
In the ABA Transfer System every class will have a Main Event and the first three rounds of Moto's are used to determine who will qualify or transfer to that Main Event. The number of riders who will qualify will be determined by the total number of riders in the class. This information will be on the MOTO sheet in the space marked Qualifiers.(Example 1-2-2) Once a rider qualifies or transfers out of one of their qualifying Moto's they will not have to race again until the Main Event. The order in which the riders cross the finish line in the Main Event is the final results for their class for that day's racing.
For example in a 14 Expert Class with a total of 6 riders, the qualifiers would be 1-2-2. This means in the 1st qualifying round 1 rider transfers to the Main, in the 2nd qualifying round 2 riders transfer and in the 3rd qualifying round 2 riders transfer making a 5 rider Main Event. In this scenario the 1st qualifying round would have 6 riders, only the winner would transfer to the Main. The 2nd qualifying round would only have 5 riders and the winner and second place riders would both transfer to the Main. The 3rd qualifying round would only have 3 riders and the winner and second place riders would both transfer to the Main and the third place rider in the 3rd qualifying round would be finished for the day.
